Obituary of Norma Hoffman

FAIRBURY - Norma J. Hoffman, 88, Fairbury, died at 9:20 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 6, 2007) at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Christian Apostolic Church, Forrest, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Hoffman was born May 15, 1918, at Pontiac, the daughter of Andrew and Katherine Kuenzi Zimmerman. She married Samuel N. Hoffman on Feb. 11, 1939, at Pontiac. He died March 23, 2006.

Surviving are her children, Carol (Donald) Bazzell, Barbara (Billy) Mashburn, Kenneth Hoffman, Susan (Eddie) Goad and Kurt (Tammy) Hoffman, all of Fairbury; Samuel (Mary) Hoffman, St. Augustine, Fla.; Robert Hoffman, Joliet; Mary (John) Schmidgall, Salem, Ore.; Diane (Dennis) Rassi, Forrest; Donna (Steve) Maurer, Cropsey; and Janice (Randy) Ricketts, Camp Verde, Ariz. Also surviving are 40 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hoffman is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She was a homemaker; member of the Christian Apostolic Church, Forrest; and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

The family suggests memorials be given to OSF Hospice, Pontiac; Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury; or to the Christian Apostolic Church, Forrest.
