Obituary of Alice Himelick

Oct. 28, 1914 - Oct. 30, 2009

Alice E. Himelick, 95, Kokomo, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital.

She was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Fairbury, Ill., the daughter of Paul and Emma Hoffman. On April 24, 1937, she married Alfred A. Himelick, who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2003.

Alice was a homemaker, and secretary for Kokomo Center Schools. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for many years, and enjoyed traveling, camping, and family.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Himelick and wife Pat, Phoenix, Ariz., and James Himelick and wife Pat, Kokomo; three grandchildren, Dean Himelick and wife Trudy, South Bend, Nathan Himelick and wife Kerry, Indianapolis, and Melissa Himelick, Chicago; two great-grandchildren, Justin Himelick and Christina Himelick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and six brothers.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Steve Beutler officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
